From age six, Alyson has been writing poems, encouraged by her school teacher, mother Valerie Jackson MBE, for whom she is grateful for her inspiration in life. Alyson was sent to elocution lessons (initially for a correction to a lisp), where she took her speech and drama exams in verse, prose and acting. She continued this in adulthood and started teaching her own students in similar exams with The Trinity Guildhall London with a successful 100% pass rate. Some of her students have gone on to have successful acting careers, including Jessica Barden (The End of the F...ing), Colson Smith (Coronation Street) and Kimberley Walsh. ( Girls Aloud)
Her passion is teaching, reading and writing poetry.

She has dedicated this book to her Mum.

Float Away in a Bubble by Alyson E. Lee is a poetry collection that focuses mainly on nature, sprinkling in a good word of advice. While the book itself states that it’s for teens and adults, I feel like this book would fit the range 10-15 better. I felt like some of the poems were unfinished, or that they could have been reworded to flow better. Some of the art was extremely cute! Especially the one that depicted a dachshund with a crown. I feel like this book has a lot of potential, but could be reworked a little. My favorite poem was “Velvet Brown” because it reminded me of my grandmother’s old dog.
