The work of a young 1st generation American poet with strong cultural ties to India. Her obsevations on social dynamics exhibits skill and insight beyond her years.
For such a young voice, this book speaks so deeply to our current political climate, society, and family dynamics. Garg's voice shows maturity, reflection, and insight beyond her years. Her ability to illustrate a scene and bring the reader into her world is truly impressive. Some of my favorite selections were Khichdi, Frosting, Squinting, Mirrored, and Bang! Then, A Bullet.
