Provides advice and examples suggesting how young people can develop self-esteem and a positive attitude in social situations, school, sports, or artistic endeavors.
I'm an avid skier and snowboarder and a former member of the National Ski Patrol. I take long mountain-bike rides with my dog every morning (except in the winter, when we cross-country ski), and then spend the next couple of hours on my farm writing and editing my books. (No office . . . I usually just sit on the tailgate of my truck.) I am a licensed pilot, a certified scuba diver, and an Advanced EMT.
A book that is definitely 20 years old and aimed for young teens. But there are a lot of great, uplifting suggestions that any age can learn or be reminded of--over and over. Though and LDs author, it is not loaded with LDS gospel doctrine, so the audience for this book is anyone because it's something easily understood by all. And it is something everyone could benefit from. I'm very glad I read it. I really needed it at this point of my life. And I'll be sure to go back to it for ideas to keep positive, happy, overcome my hangups, and be happy with me. (And there is no reference to Anne's friend Katie Maurice.)
