Are you frustrated by how much time your son or daughter spends playing video games, texting friends, or surfing the net? Do you feel like some sort of technology-beast has invaded your home? If so, then you're not alone.A wave of hyper-technology is sweeping across the plant, and if we're not careful, it will wash away our children and their future families. The temptation is to shrug our shoulders and say, "I guess everyone is doing it," but if we do that, then we will have let our children down. This book will help you understand the attraction of and influence behind the gizmos and learn practical measures that you can take to put the "Techno-BEAST" in its rightful place.
I originally read this book last year on kindle version. Wanting to revisit it again, this Spring I bought it in paperback as well as the workbook that goes with it, to go through as a family. Todd brings such humor to all of his writings, but has common sense down to earth teachings. He raises awareness to the dangers of too much time on media devices, yet has a healthy balanced perspective on how to navigate ourselves and children in life through our crazy world of too much electronics. He explains the "why" we need balance and "how" too. Our kids gained a better understanding regarding the subject, learned how to set their own limits and of coarse love to throw out the ever so encouraging words to one of their siblings "kill the beast" when they have been on electronics/media too long or need someone's attention. Highly recommend, but don't miss out on the workbook. The workbook doesn't have a lot of writing to do in it. Great for all ages. Great family read!
This is a really good book on taming the techno beast, or aka, limiting your electronic use. Less kindle. Less computer. Less phone. Less technology. Todd Wilson is humorous and there is a lot to learn by reading this book. There is also a workbook that comes with this. Recommended.
A short, OK book with some healthy principles about our culture and the dangers of modern technology but he seemed a but extreme and alarmist in his approach.
This book is great!!! It's very interesting and the way he wrote it makes it fun to learn, plus it pretty darn hilarious!!! So what are you waiting for.... "KILL THE BEAST!!!!"
