Six suspects. A blizzard trapping them together. And only two days to catch a murderer.
Veterinarian Zoe Stephenson forgot how fast you could lose everything. With a boyfriend who loves her and her missing sister found, her life finally seemed to be going right.
Until the worst storm in Michigan’s history traps her at a convention center overnight with three hungry dogs, one annoyingly handsome off-duty detective, six people with a motive for murder, and one dead body. With Christmas fast approaching, she’s only grateful there wasn’t also a partridge in a pear tree.
Now, to find the murderer before the weather clears and allows them to escape, Zoe will have to unravel her toughest puzzle yet—and face some secrets of her own that she’d rather keep buried.
Barking Up the Wrong Tree is the exciting third book in the Cat and Mouse Whodunit cozy mystery series. If you like adorable animals, quirky characters, and a twisty-turny plot, then you’ll love Emily James’ page-turning story.
This was an awesome locked room murder mystery! I definitely hadn’t guessed whodunit but was glad to see Zoe and Ryan working together as an investigating team, basically because he had no other choice due to the blizzard. But they did really work well together and it was a far cry from the very first book. I honestly believe these two belong together and wish Zoe could work up the courage to break up with her current boyfriend.
There was also some news on the ongoing story about Zoe’s sister she’d never met, Harper which continues in the next book. I’m kinda glad I waited to read this until I was sure there was a book 4, lol. Now I can borrow it and binge into it.
