Although some updates are needed since the initial publication, it took me through the steps and gave me insights into things I hadn't even considered. I'll refer to it again.
There’s some good insight and advice, but at the price I was hoping for more depth. I have the outline of a plan now, and am going to try some new things.
The book, Publishing Unchained, by author Chuck Barrett, presents a verbal map to the goal of having your book published. Not only is writing your first book an uphill battle—something that can be taught, but ultimately has to be learned—once the writing is mastered to a professional level, the next major hurdle is getting the piece published.
Mister Barrett delivers in this regard. Instead of throwing your hard-crafted work up on Amazon.com, he shows a slower, more professional, more satisfying route for publication. In short, perfect the writing craft so there will be no embarrassment later on from your hurry-up project now posted on Amazon for the entire world to see. Then work the system outlined by Mr. Barrett to reach the publication goal. Slow and methodical? Yes. Effective and embarrassment free? Yes.
I highly recommend this book to all authors—published, or like me, wannabes.
