Have you ever lost hope? Have you ever wondered where God was when you were in the heat of the battle? Have you ever prayed and cried out to God and it seemed as if there was no answer? Have you ever been just “one more” incident away from giving up and throwing in the towel? In her new devotional, Fully Constrained: What Faith Can Do, Cassandra Baker Durham gives readers gentle reminders of the power, strength and faithfulness of God. This book in just ten minutes a day encourages, inspires and uplifts readers who have been discouraged, disillusioned and disappointed by the storms, test and trials they have faced. Fully Constrained: What Faith Can Do reassures readers that our faith is alive. It is tangible, thriving, flourishing, and replenishing us with fresh hope daily. In Fully Constrained: What Faith Can Do, readers discover what it is exactly that our faith is able to do. Faith really does move mountains. In fact our faith empowers us to be able to do anything!
I received the book to read/review for an author interview on Dream4More Radio on BTR. While reading, there will be a few questions I have to ask since I am a Bible study teacher and prayer warrior at my local church, but when I tell people about these things...look at me as the odd-ball.
Faith is a difficult thing for some believers to understand and get it, but she gives 30 days of faith-based examples and solutions. It's a short read, per day, on a faith factor journey.
Side note: I also did this in Day Begins with Christ but with thorough examples per day (50); only one review asked to be shortened because of it. (I hope someday to write a children's book on this topic).
Only remark I would make in this read, is wondering why words have breaks in them. In other words, the word "exchange" reads as "ex-change" with the dash/hyphen to break the word as two when it is one. I believe the author is emphasizing or stressing these words for the reader (could be a suggestion?). Another word in title (says) has an apostrophe (say's), maybe a typo. Yet it doesn't distract you but just curious.
Once I got to day 24, laughing at the only one with the pockets. Once you read it, you will either smile, laugh, and/or relate for sure. I enjoyed reading about faith helping us with temptation and casting our cares. She was very down-to-earth and dynamically creative with faith that I didn't even consider or think of!
I've learned that faith does ignite PRAISE. We can pray all day but with praise, you will see the raise! "Faith is the match that can and will set your praise on fire (page 33, PDF)."
Overall, this is a blessed devotional. It is also encouraging, edifying, and inspiring...there's more than one chapter you can relate to and believe that GOD is always there! Keep God in your equation, faith is what pleases Him (Heb. 11:6).
This devotional was truly a blessing to me!! Full of inspiration, wisdom, and Biblical truths, I dare anyone to read just one day at a time. I devoured this devotional and hated to reach day 31. I am so thankful this devotional is a part of my book collection. I'm sure I will be referring back to it quite often.
