Jean-Yves Crozier was born in Montreal, Canada in 1966. He lived in France from the age of 4, moving from south to north and regularly changing schools. He moved back to North America in the early 80s, in New Orleans where at 15, he discovered music, bars and girls...

Married at 18, he moved to London, where he spent two years working in restaurants and traveling across Europe before moving back to Montreal for the first time in 17 years and going on a 2 year road trip across Canada, the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Spending the next two years in Montreal, he had two daughters from a second marriage, worked for a theater company and then for a center helping Montreal's youth set up their own business. He move to Japan in 1992 where is wife was from, but not speaking the language and finding himself illiterate, he had to adapt to the circumstances and first worked as a laborer in a small northeastern town and later for a newspaper in Tokyo.

He moved to France in the mid 90s working as a guide and then as an interpreter for the famous Cordon Bleu cooking school. It is during this period that he began to seriously write and also started designing websites.

In Majorca (Spain) from 1997 to 2014, he worked as an independent website designer/graphic designer and published a first book of poetry (in French mostly), "Faut-il se poser la question?" (Editions Dedicaces) in 2012. He now resides in the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe since November 2014.

For the last couple of decades, he has also been investigating countless methods of self-improvement and alternative therapies. He discovered EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) in 2007, which has helped him abundantly, to solve personal issues of fear, phobias and anxiety in particular. He obtained both the basic and advanced certificates in 2008 from the Gary Craig course and have been practicing since. His personal experience in dealing with these issues and the results he has obtained with others led him to write, "Eliminate phobias and fears the efficient easy way" (2013) and "Quit smoking the fun easy way" (2017), in which he also explains the basics of EFT and what to do to use it successfully. He also published "Simple formula for success" (2016).

Since July 2013 he writes and publishes a surrealist series of short episodes "Le funambule acoustique" in Kindle format. As of October 7th 2013, he also publishes original episodes in English as the "Acoustic Funambulist" series.

"Acoustic Funambulist" is a series of quick escapes to a star-filled universe where anything can happen.
Set in a humorous and poetic background, it tells the story of an aerialist traveling through the galaxies where he encounters all sorts of unlikely characters and situations.
Behind the surrealism, poetry and irony that make up the stories, the series addresses many of the philosophical and social concerns we all have and often parodies real life situations.

In this episode, the Funambulist (acrobat, aerialist, tightrope walker, etc) finds himself here on planet Earth and receives a not-so-warm welcome.

The most interesting part of this very short story is a glimpse at our own world through the eyes of a complete stranger. He does find a friend (not a human) who is able to explain to him that humans do things that are pointless and are eager to feel as if they have power over others. All in all, it is an interesting short to get you thinking about our future.

I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
