Python in a Day – Python päivässä – kirja, jonka lukee yhdeltä istumalta. Mikä mahtava idea! Kirja tutustuttaa lukijan Python-kielen saloihin nopeasti, tehokkaasti ja turhaa rönsyilemättä. Se jakautuu kahteentoista lukuun, joista kahdessa ensimmäisessä kerrotaan, mikä Python on ja kuinka se asennetaan koneelle. Seuraavissa luvuissa esitellään muuttujat, tietotyypit, syntaksi, merkkijonot, ehtolausekkeet, silmukat, listat, taulukot, funktiot ja modulit. Viimeinen luku huipentuu siihen, kuinka edellä opitun avulla tehdään tietokoneohjelma. Kirja soveltuu erityisesti sellaiselle, joka osaa ohjelmoida esimerkiksi Delphillä, C++:lla tai Javalla. The book is exactly what it says, a very basic introduction to python. you won't get too much depth past your generic "hello world" type programs, but the book does a great job showing how easy the syntax is to pick up and run with. I'd recommend it for people with limited to no programming experience, or if you want a quick display of what the hype is about.

Great book for getting down the basics. It walks you through using code for the first time, and debugging as well. Only wish it would have covered classes as that is where I always get hung up.
