This book gives a good basic overview of evaluation research methods for social service projects; however, it couldbe improved by adding practical examples frmo a variety of disciplines. it is very difficult to make the connect between theory and practice without such examples. i can see why this book didn't make it beyond the second edition. in terms of contemporary guides, i think Europeaid's logical framework guide is an indispensible resource for program evaluators.
