The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.

I love this book - it is book 5 of a 5 book "book" - this is my review of the 5 books
This is 5 "books" - in my mind it's like 5 chapters - each "book" is about 10 pages! BUT there is a LOT in these 5 books. It is Emily's wedding night and she is just learning to submit. She has had dreams (and searches) on the subject and she is happy her new husband is taking her in hand. I love the way the author (Emily) tells the story. The way the book starts I thought it was taking place in the 1912 not 2012! I love the thoughts and actions of Emily and her husband. Can't wait to read the next book - Emily's First Caning.

May 23, 2013Over the years since I first started writing erotica for myself (I was writing slave and spanking stories long before puberty), I have narrated acts of anal sex many, many times. The reason I'm happiest with this one out of them all (and don't worry, reader, for there will be a great many such episodes over the course of my EXPLORATIONS!) is that I feel I captured both the fantasy and meaning of that fantasy--its relation to submission. I also managed to work in a bunch of Story of O allusions, which always makes me happy.

Yuck, not my idea of a turn on at the end but each to their own. But a good ending to the first part of the series.
