Brings up topics and advice that are presumably obvious to women but not to men, which is great. This book is however too short to be used on its own. Kind of like a summary of things you will have to figure out some other way.

Also feel there should have been more on morning sickness. Much of the book is about how to support your wife, but there's nothing about this symptom that the majority of women describe as the worst part of their pregnancies

indispensable guide for men stepping into fatherhood for the first time

7 Chapters Every First Time Dad Needs to Read" is an invaluable resource that breaks down the complexities of pregnancy and fatherhood into a concise and accessible guide. Written with the busy first-time dad in mind, this book provides practical advice, essential information, and a reassuring tone that will help men confidently navigate the transformative journey of becoming a father.

From the moment I started reading, I was impressed by the author's ability to condense a vast amount of knowledge into seven concise chapters. Each chapter addresses a crucial aspect of pregnancy, ensuring that no stone is left unturned. The book covers everything from supporting your partner emotionally to understanding the physical changes she experiences, from preparing for childbirth to becoming an involved and caring father.

One of the standout features of this guide is its no-nonsense approach. The author understands that time is of the essence for first-time dads, and the book's concise format respects that. The chapters are well-structured, getting straight to the point and delivering practical advice without unnecessary fluff. This approach allows busy fathers-to-be to quickly grasp the essentials and take immediate action.

The book does an excellent job of acknowledging the unique emotional journey that expectant fathers go through. It provides valuable insights into the emotional challenges, fears, and anxieties that can arise during pregnancy. The author's empathetic tone helps first-time dads feel understood and offers guidance on how to navigate these emotions, fostering a sense of reassurance and support.

Furthermore, the inclusion of real-life stories and experiences from other first-time dads adds a personal touch to the book. These anecdotes not only provide relatable moments but also offer a sense of camaraderie. They remind readers that they are not alone in their journey and that many other men have successfully navigated the challenges of becoming a father.

While the book does a great job of covering the essentials, there were a few areas where I felt it could have delved deeper. Some topics, such as the postpartum period or the challenges of early parenthood, were touched upon briefly but could have been explored in more detail. Expanding on these areas would have provided first-time dads with a more comprehensive understanding of the entire parenting journey.

Despite this minor limitation, "7 Chapters Every First Time Dad Needs to Read" remains an indispensable guide for men stepping into fatherhood for the first time. Its concise and practical approach, combined with the author's empathetic tone, make it an ideal resource for busy expectant fathers. By reading this book, men can gain the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to be an active and engaged partner throughout the pregnancy journey and beyond.

Great advice from a Dad not afraid to do housework

This book kept me laughing. The author's tone is humorous, but he tackles the hard issues that no man likes to hear (or do.) Housework needs to be done. Both partners in a marriage need to do it. Husbands who are now fathers actually need to know how to use household appliances, then actually use them. This includes vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, and washing machines. Somehow, this author makes it all sound do-able. An enjoyable and helpful read.

I would recommend

As an expecting mother, I recognized the scarcity of resources available specifically for first-time dads. That's why I bought this for my husband, and I'm so glad I did. This book provides crucial information in an entertaining way, preparing dads for the arrival of their new baby.
The insights shared are relatable and practical, addressing the four main sources of conflict that new parents often face. From sleep loss to social isolation, unequal workload, and even depression, this book covers it all.

I'm not a dad - my wife isn't even pregnant (yet). But we're quickly approaching that stage of life, and I started to realize how jumbled my thoughts were on the issue. So I bought Remington James' short (170 pages) book and read it in an afternoon.

Like the author, I don't want to waste your time. All I'll say is that after reading, I feel a lot more confident that I got this, that we got this, and that becoming a father will be the greatest thing I ever do.

I am a father of 2. A 10yr old boy and a 6yr old boy. It felt like I was reading a book about me lol. So many things while I read and thought oh i thought that was just me.

Really good read and lots of info you can take from the book too. It's nice just knowing your not the only father to be having these freak out and thoughts.

I enjoyed reading this book. Not because it was the most eye opening insightful thing I’ve ever read, but because it was real. It was raw. It felt like a friend telling me what to expect out of this unexpected journey I’m about to take on. I didn’t expect much from this book and I wasn’t disappointed nor completely blown away but I am walking away feeling proud and ready for my journey as a dad.
