This little eBook is a collection of essays that take a contrarian approach to many of our cherished nostrums. For example home ownership is not always a good choice. In recent years it's been a disaster for millions. US prisons are not filled with dangerous people. Most are there on minor drug offenses and the high US incarceration rate only exploded after we declared war on drugs. What currently passes for higher education, outside of STEM fields, is largely a waste. Does anyone take feminist, lesbian, gay, black or fat studies seriously? The failures of common knowledge are, to be blunt, common.
