I found the opening chapters quite good. However as I read further in the book, it seemed like it turned into a "click here" catalog. I found myself engaging in exercises without really understanding _why_ I was doing so. While I do think it's valuable to have exercises to expose the capabilities of the product, with a book like this, I look as much for concepts and "why" behind the product. It seemed like the author started in that direction and then backed off from the higher-level conceptual stuff somewhat in favor of a features walk-through.
I have deep expertise in SQL Server and Business Intelligence tools. This is a good book, and I recommend it, but I was definitely hoping for (and expecting) more. I would give 3.5 stars if 1/2 stars were allowed.
Good overview of SQL MAster Datta servos. Sets up the context for why someone might use this product and the goes over all the features of the product very nicely.
