Ms. Hutson grew up in the mountains of Virginia, which bear incredible influence on most of her work. She enjoys a rural life with lots of wild life, interesting people and inspirational circumstances! Most of her work walks on the dark side. Paranormal suspense/thrillers (with a little romance thrown in here and there), creature features, tantalizing ghost stories and legends brought into the light and into the lives of everyday characters to haunt even the brightest day time efforts to put the story away long after it's been read. Dark Poetry holds a small place among these efforts. There's always room for variation, however, as Ms. Hutson writes the occasional family drama, brings oral histories and folk tales to the written page, essays on every imaginable subject and even an occassional article on interesting or successful characters.
What a nice addition to the popular paranormal genre! Inheritance Rising, by Honey Hutson, offers us a twist to the usual and gives us a strong main character to love. And even though this is the second book in her series, you can jump in right here. The only issue you will have will be that you want to go back and read the first. I know I do!
Ms. Hutson describes her writing this way – “I try to present strong female characters, a little fun woven into the excitement and let the romance blend into the storyline. I hope you’ll find it interesting!”
Thank you, Ms. Hutson, we certainly did. Stay up well past your bedtime and read this 4 Midnight Magic Girls story!
Wow! And I don't mean that lightly. I loved Honey Hutson, first book "Soul Inheritance" I couldn't put it down and found the same problem with the sequel, "Inheritance Rising". These books are not books you should read before turning in or you will find your self still up and reading them in the morning. It' very rare I finish a book in one to two days but with both of these stories. I just couldn't put them down.
First of all the stories are original which I find very refreshing. I am so tired of reading the same old things that has just been done differently. Honey characters have a whole new concept. First you have a creature call GreyStone a one of a kind being who use to be human. Now you have Sebastian who much scarier then Greystone. Katherine now has to learn her powers much faster before it to late.
You will find your self wanting to protect Katherine just like the rest of the characters in the books. You will find your self wanting to start over and be apart of her new family. Your even wish you had some of her powers.
I dare you not to like this book. 5 stars goes to Honey Hutson and her sequel "Inheritance Rising". I can't wait for the next one to come out. I am definitely a fan of Honey Hutson and her creative imagination.
