You don’t really need to know about money until you’re older… Mom and Dad take care of everything you need, and until you have to fend for yourself, financial knowledge is irrelevant, right? WRONG! Here’s why. At your age, you have an advantage over the adults around you – the earlier you start with good financial habits, the more money you’ll have later. Let’s put that into perspective. If someone had told you when you were four that you could do something then that would give you money to spend on whatever you wanted now, wouldn’t you want to have done that? Maybe four-year-old you wouldn’t have understood, but for you now, that extra money would be amazing. That’s the position you’re going to be in years down the line if you start acquiring good financial habits now. And if that all sounds dry and tedious and you’d far rather be playing video games with your friends, you’re in for a treat. You haven’t hit upon a dry textbook here – you’ve found a fun and engaging guide written by another teenager – one who already understands how to build his wealth. Inside this unique guide to money and how to use it wisely , you’ll find everything you need to know to set yourself up for life – and that doesn’t just mean having more money – it means having more freedom. You’ll And much more. You’re never too young to learn about money… In fact, the younger you are, the better. That’s your key to freedom when you’re older – the ability to travel; the ability to do the kind of work you love; the ability to live comfortably without sacrificing your life to long working hours. Even better? You can pick up all the knowledge you need in one fun and engaging guide – written by a kid just like you.
Important, Relevant, and Timely! Not just for teens!
I’m very impressed by the research and effort that went into writing and publishing this book. The writing is clear, concise, yet humorous. It’s compelling and I wish there had been a book like this when I was growing up. But, at least my mother was a master budgeter and taught me the basics! As Finley says, you sure don’t learn this in school!
This book is well written and organized. Chapters and sub-chapters are short and concise, so it’s an easy read. You’re never too young nor too old for the information in this book. It covers somewhat tangential but valuable topics like how to prepare for a job interview, how to organize an elevator pitch. Then the obvious topics like budgeting, allocating money earned between short and long-tern savings, needs, and wants. And of course ways to earn money… jobs, investments, buying assets, and more. There’s a wealth of great information and advice in this book. Great read and a valuable asset!
The younger you are when you learn about money the more money you can make in your life. This is a great book on how teens can earn and grow their money. The book is very practical and setup to make simple changes to unlock secrets to making money. Really liked the easy step by step approach of the book. It is an interesting book dedicated to teens and their interests in making money. Written by a teenager this is a helpful financial guide for teens. Some of the information is useful. Some is questionable. The last chapter on credit cards is interesting and oversimplified. Always want a warning in books like this when addressing controversial topics. Credit cards are tricky even for adults. Overall, enjoyed the majority of the book because of its simplicity and clarity of the practical aspects of the financial guide.
This guide breathes life into the often-dull topic of finance, making it engaging with practical checklists and creative examples. There’s a slight disconnect between the guide’s language and the people it’s meant for as the writing style is quite sophisticated, which might make it difficult for younger readers to relate to, and by adding a lighter, more teen-focused vibe could really boost its appeal. The guide is helpful, but can feel a bit overwhelming at times, and some sections could benefit from further clarification. Nevertheless, this book is a strong starting point for young people who are keen to learn about finance.
Wow! I just want to say thank you. The teens in my life will get a copy of this book. The interesting way this book broke all things financial down made it very easy to understand. I can't get over how well written and how well it flowed from one thing to the next. I wanted to learn more myself, and I couldn't have picked a better book. Soon, I will try out some new things I have learned. Wish me luck
This is a great guide for teens looking to understand money. Written by a fellow teenager, it explains key financial concepts like saving, investing, and making smart money choices in a simple, fun way.
The book highlights the importance of starting early and gives practical steps to help teens build good habits now. What I really liked were the clear tips at the end of each chapter, making it easy to apply the advice right away.
It was truly a great starter book. I will be passing this annotated copy down to my little brother and will be watching out for more of Finley's books in the future! I think it was extremely helpful and spoon feeds you into wanting to be proactive about making your money work for you.
This book is such an easy read and it is written in a way that the reader can say”that makes a lot of sense”, and then it inspires you to work on that dollars piece.
