Don't Blame the Ugly Mug: 10 Years of 2 Idiots Peddling Poetry

Rate this book
Poetry. For the last ten years, these two self-proclaimed idiots have been hosting a weekly reading series, peddling poetry at the Ugly Mug Cafe in Orange. These hosts, Ben Trigg and Steve Ramirez, have gathered poems from a selection of poets who have, at some point the past decade, made the trek from coordinates across the country to the Ugly Mug. The collection compiles poems by nearly 200 authors who have featured or read at the cafe.

This anthology is a reflection of the venue itself. The poetry host Ben put together the anthology the same way he runs the reading. He arrogantly gives his personal and longtime friends and associates more coverage while disregarding any quality from other authors. He has no regard for the art itself but runs a completely buddy-oriented and cliquish reading as reflected in this anthology. Newcomers hate him and his reading.
The host by the way has no actual academic background in poetry at all and it shows. Yes and we know exactly who to blame.Between a rude owner named Phil and corrupt poetry reading host save your money on admission and book. Save your money for a good book and reading because the Idiots already wasted their money on this book.
