About the author

Peter Stephenson was born in the United Kingdom and after high school, joined Voluntary Service Overseas for one year as a volunteer teacher to 8 to 12-year-olds in the Punjab in Pakistan. This is where he developed his passion for travel, as well as for storytelling with youngsters, which continues with his four lovely grandchildren.

Peter's career has taken him to more than a dozen other countries. Since retiring a few years ago, he and his wife Barbara have been avid travelers. Hence his book series 'Kim's Adventure Travels': high adventure combined with authentic travelogues.

Earlier, following tertiary qualifications in business, Peter's career in corporate management led him at a young age to run a small group of companies with overseas subsidiaries. Then the wanderlust kicked in again, and he lived and worked in Canada and Australia where he formed and ran his own professional services' companies.

I would recommend this book to someone who wants an introduction to SQL at a high-level or needs a quick review of what SQL can accomplish. This is not something that can be a reference book unless you work with Gupta. It was very helpful in explaining some of the phrases in DB2, and when they should be used. It was not helpful in explaining how to use embedded SQL.
