What if you can't get through to a doctor?

You will learn how to identify and manage stress, understand how sleep affects our hormones, the role of exercise in our lives, and the importance of maintaining positive social connections for our mental health.

There is dietary support, which draws on the science and power of plant-based nutrition to offer Menopause Menus - dozens of easy, delicious, and nourishing plant-based recipes for breakfast, main meals, and snacks from Nitu's kitchen with a shopping plan, and health insights for each dish.

Each lifestyle pillar chapter concludes with a Menopause a summary, a list of the top self-help tips to implement and a positive affirmation that is tied to that chapter.

I was so fortunate to attend a panel discussion featuring Dr Nitu Bajekal and her husband, Dr Rajiv Bajekal at a Vegan festival. During the panel, Dr Nitu touched upon so many of the burning questions that women face in their mid-life stage. At the end of the talk, I just knew I had to pick up this book and was fortunate enough to get an author-signed copy too!

Dr. Nitu covers a lot of what it means to go through perimenopause/menopause and touches specifically on how nutrition and lifestyle changes can have a profound impact on our health. I've seen this first-hand with my own perimenopause symptoms so it was heartening to have it endorsed by a board-certified Ob-Gyn who is also plant-based.

Highly recommend this book to every woman, whether or not they are vegan themselves.

A very easy to read, well researched book about menopause and the perimenopause period. Excellent chapters on nutrition( including soya!), supplements and osteoporosis. Dr Bajekal explains clearly the hormonal changes taking place at this time and reasons for your symptoms, the pros and cons of HRT- these are questions we all want answered. The book does not have to be read from cover to cover- pick the chapters that interest you most!
I wish I had access to this sort of information when I needed it. A definite must read!

This a good book to dip in and out of.

Some nice recipes by the Happy Pear

I like that it promotes a plant based diet and also outlines the benefits of plant based not only on people but the planet too.

However, no pictures for recipes and maybe too much info on some areas which don’t have any specific studies mentioned.

Some people could find this a useful reference book.
