This book was so good! I loved Emesos, but I'm pretty sure Ishik was my favorite character. I found the mythology of the story to be really interesting! I really want to know how people are able to summon blades, like, how does that work?! There were a couple times that things got a little confusing for me, but otherwise this book was fabulous. I was constantly kept guessing, and I LOVED that some of my predictions were wrong! That probably sounds crazy, but some books are so predictable, that even though I'm enjoying them, I can almost tell the story myself.

Honestly, this isn't the type of book I would ever pick for myself. I got confused a lot throughout the story, but it did keep me intrigued. If there is a second book I would definitely check it out to get some answers to left open questions from book one.
