Data Mesh in Practice - How to Set Up a Data-Driven Organization

Rate this book
Data mesh is a fairly new approach to data architecture that decentralizes
ownership of domain data while applying product thinking
to analytics data. It is mainly a solution to problems with organizational
scaling. The reason why data mesh is not focusing on addressing problems with technical scaling is that many of those
challenges have already been addressed by the technological innovations
of the past years, most notably by public cloud platforms
and by parallel computation frameworks.

The price of this informational book is right: it's free.
And it does exactly that: a specialised topic "Data Mesh" is explained in a practival way.
The approach in about 50 content pages is 360°. The history of storage and centralised data management followed by the problems encountered. The proposed solution which is data mesh explained and followed by a possible approach for implementation with a number of possibel pitfalls to watch out for. The last part contains some practival feedback from the industry with pitfalls and best practices.
In this respect the book informs and is also a theorical guideline to implement the concept of data mash in an organistaion.
Some preliminary knowldedge on data management, storage, data flows and roles is necessary to understand the message of the authors.
