Recommend for anyone who is considering or actively engaged in Umbraco development - even the new stuff - and not just because it's the only book I could find. This book was great, but not for any of the reasons I originally wanted to read it. I have been using various versions of Umbraco (4.6 - 7.1) for a while, and had a special interest in how to handle development and deployment migration concerns. The book was written to address only version 4 (meaning 6 and 7 were not discussed at all), which was disappointing but it still gave me a good background on many of the things that perhaps I only knew in passing. Additionally, they pointed out some good tricks and API references that perhaps I had previously coded around instead of interfacing with. That being said, the book was woefully light on development and deployment discussion - at least beyond my experience to date - and those sections basically read like a sales pitch for the Courier product. I suppose at least it's good to know that everyone else probably has the same problems I do.
