A classroom teacher for 15 years and a Responsive Classroom consultant for many years, Mike now serves as an independent consultant working with teachers and schools around the US and beyond. This book is full of many great ideas and offers insight on the behaviors of children in the fourth grade. I will implement some of the ideas including morning and end of day meetings. I'm going to do most of the "traditional" teaching in a circle group. When the students are actually working, it will be done primarily at their desks. These were ideas I was already planning on using, but this book has made me more confident to go on with my plan. It's an easy read and I would recommend it to any new fourth grade teacher.
