never wanted to use goodreads to log my college books, but this one in particular makes me so mad. this is supposed to be a textbook? for studying?? am i being pranked rn??

Very good introductory book to the underlying principles of cloud computing. It goes into the right level of details for that purpose and it even has some historical perspective to it.
Its claim to address the Internet of Thing (IoT) is overstated as it dedicates only a short section to that subject in the final chapter. In any event, it was a good read and I would recommend it to those interested in delving into these subjects (cloud computing, distributed computing, grids). Make sure to get the latest version as this one (2011) is quickly becoming obsolete.

This is like a textbook. Maybe too much information, not just clouds and software but hardware too. All in all it's a worthwhile book.
