This new revision of Wainwright's bestselling book on Apache configuration and administration demonstrates installation, maintenance, and deployment, plus how to configure Apache to use Perl, PHP, and Python as server-side scripting languages. And unlike other books on Apache, "Pro Apache" provides comprehensive information on both major revisions--1.3 and 2.0--of the software.
I like the structure of this book, which makes it a little less like an Apache manual. But, at the end of the day, that's what it is: an Apache manual. There's a real need for an experienced web server administrator to write a book with actual advice about what to do, rather than just going over all the things that can be done with the software.
