Humans, they weigh all the options against a well-defined set of preferences to choose the one which makes them happiest, or is the most valuable to them. The book give clear insights for both public choice and rational choice, which later goes even further and can be applied into nonmarket realms, such as your illogical life. You should read this even though you are not interested in either economic or politics, then you may find your ego in those pages. That when your "self" exploded, realising "human" is just a concept and choices are affected by your personality type.
