this is a very good book gives me a lot of ideas on how to start ...it also provides me with a lot of additional sources of information on how to proceeds further ...

Written from a British perspective but most all of it transfers. I loved the emphasis on reading to kids of all ages as well as the breakdown in age-specific practices. Very practical and non-teacher parent friendly.
