Within/Without

For one year, abstract, mixed media painter Kimberly MacArthur Graham and award-winning poet Kathryn Bass met to exchange paintings and poems, reflect upon their experiences as artists and women, and share tea. The images and words in this book are the intertwined results of a year-long conversation centering on issues of creativity, fertility, and feminism. The originals, framed in pairs, were the subject of a two-month exhibition at the Western Colorado Center for the Arts in Grand Junction, Colorado, in March and April of 2005.
