Tony, a once promiscuous eighteen-year-old enjoying total sexual freedom. When he finds his first love in a younger boy who already has dreams of marriage and domesticity, he discovers a lot of new-found emotions rearing up to taunt him. Following a bad beating on his first date with Luke, Tony finds the bond growing deeper than he had expected and as their relationship progresses it seems the whole world is out to test them to the limit. They must conquer family holidays with hidden agenda, offerings of willing girls, Parisian s&m dungeons, well-meaning relatives, old lovers and even vicious porn film gangs, if they are to have a chance of any kind of life together. But does knowledge of a prior generation’s mistakes make it any easier to get it right first time, or are they a millstone, chaining Tony and Luke to a constant round of pain and historic repetition? Amongst all this Tony must learn how to accept Luke’s bisexuality. How can a young, sexually liberated and experienced young man find it so hard to understand that straight or gay are not the only flavours on the menu?
