This is the most valuable tool I have for planning intelligent, intentional sequences. Everything you need for each pose is here: the Koshas, the body systems, the Vayus, the Chakras, Bandhas, cues, modifications…. Everything.
Excellent! Good thing this book is binder form with laminated pages because I reference it constantly. Each card has instructions for a pose along with modifications, elements of ayurvedic info and other esoteric applications (chakras, prana vayus, etc). Sanskrit pose names are broken down for each. Modifications and suggestions are illustrated with cartoon people which can be more precise than seeing an actual person whos body structure might be very different than your own (less distracting). On the flip of the card, teaching points are given for alignment, breath, and spiritual aspects. Also contraindications and benefits are listed.
A fantastic resource. I especially enjoyed the chakra information, which is extremely hard to find elsewhere. I have been able to extrapolate chakra info onto poses not outlined in the book.
The organization of this book was great. I loved the tips for how it teach it on the back, the modifications and the chakra info. The poses weren't as clear as in other books I've read but I knew most of them anyway so was mostly using this for reference. It is a fantastic reference tool
Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. This is one of the most useful books that I've come across for structuring yoga classes with all levels and themes. I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone starting to teach, OR just looking for new ideas and inspiration for classes or for personal practice!
