《世间情》是凌稜继《有情天地》《北窗内外》《爱在红尘》后的第四本散文集。一如前三本作品，《世间情》的篇章亦是作者情系笔端之作。凌稜写童年往事、青少年岁月的追梦事、步入中年生活的感悟等等，都流露出她的真挚感情，淡淡道来，情味可浓浓。凌稜曾经说过，她是个长不大的人。她的“长不大”，其实是她虽不再年轻，但仍怀有一颗跃动的童心，以童真的、纯洁的心灵看待万物，接受爱的给予和付出。凌稜又说过，她的作品，像菜肴丰富的盛宴中的一杯开水，能供一饮解渴，喝了不会有损健康，所以无愧手中的笔。
