This book is about a young girl comparing herself to her mother. She talks about how he mom likes certain foods, clothes and even music. She talks about how her mom is her best friend. Her mom encourages and helps her. Her mom spends time with her. She loves being with her mom. At the end of the book they both have on graduation gowns. Proud moment for both. I really like this book. It shows how mother and daughter can be complete opposites but still love to spend time together. They even understand and know what the other likes. I can use this book when we talk about being a classroom family. It will help show them that they may like doing and playing different things but they can still be friends. I can also use this for talking about families or mothers.

This was a good book to read for Mother's Day and is especially good for African American children who do not see many kids books with things out of their culture. It shows how a mom and daughter can have differences, but still love each other and be good friends.
