This book presents to the reader one the most enigmatic phenomena of modern Russian culture, its new myths. Myths, according to the author, are an important and steady dominant of the Russian mentality. Myth-creation, the birth and death of myths in Russia are shown with the help of television and cinema image of the world, types of heroes and heroic types, mix of the opposition Good and Evil, reality vs unreality, and merging the opposites.
