On Our Way Rejoicing

Rate this book
On Our Way Rejoicing! surges with life, with partings and reunions, adventure and romance, shining courage and, above all, the warm love that knits together a large Christian family. From a small cobblestone farmhouse in Springfield, Missouri, Pastor Ralph Hult and his wife and ten children fanned out across the world, often continents apart, to share the good news of Christ's gospel. These pages bring a unique family and their glorious vision near the heart of every reader. People in distant places are as close as next-door neighbors. And the flame of a faith kindled in other lands lights the hearts and homes of our own.

What a gem!!! I've enjoyed historical FICTION for most of my life and Christian FICTION for over a half dozen years. This TRUE LIFE biography about a missionary family blows away all the made up tales I've ever read. Ingrid's family faced physical, mental, and spiritual struggles on nearly ever continent during the last century as they shared the Gospel yet held strong to their faith. I'm torn between wanting to immediately reread it or lend it.

I loved this book. I wonder so often, "Did God like throw out the mold in the 1950s?" Where are these people? Where are these families? And I think of my own family.

I thought about how Grandma Hult moved to Bolivia, age 58, away from all the grands. And this was the 1950s so it was not an easy trip or life. Yet she loved these little ones and the entire family but the family was so captivated by the cause of taking Jesus to the nations.

Put it this way, I was greatly inspired.

Also, the author writes well. Not like the ZamZam book
