Son of a Pioneer: An Autobiography of the Lessons of Life as Taught From the Home Hearth

Rate this book
I remember life on the farm, the long hours, the hard work and the hard times in which we lived. As we were growing, up many of the values and lessons were taught with the family all sitting around the fireplace, the family hearth, in the kitchen/living room. This fireplace was the only source of heat we had year-round, and so this area was the most popular room in the house, especially during the winter months. Questions about many issues were asked, answered and explained. It was like being in a learning academy, with Dad as our teacher. This is a compilation of the many things my father taught and the things I have passed down to my children and grandchildren.
