Très accessible: il m'a fait découvrir la rhétorique, et donné envie de connaitre les anciens.

Bonne introduction. Le chapitre 3 est particulièrement important.

Un des meilleurs traités sur la question. Précis, complet, avec des exemples certes un peu datés, c'est un excellent manuel de rhétorique.

One of the most useful books in rhetoric.
Maybe it is a little too theoretical because the book implies a lot of French grammar rules about the linguistic, phonetic and it makes a lot of assumptions based on a syllogism point of view. Sometimes, it is not too clear, but thanks to the lexical guide at the end of the book, the complicated words are well explained with useful definitions.
However, this book really helped me to make some precise distinction between the different arguments that occurs in a public speech. The last part of the book, about the critical study of well known speech and philosophical essay is the best, because you apply the knowledge of all the book and you understand better all the theoretical previous part !
Definitely a must read if you are interested into eloquence. Sad that it is not translated into English !
