This is an almost 25 year old book on boas and pythons. It was the only volume that I could find at my local library (besides books for kids) that dealt with snake care. This book is definitely for the beginner. It goes over the natural history of the snake, then introduces a few boas and a few pythons. The last third of the book is dedicated to the care of your snake and terrarium setups. This is my first time reading a book on python care, therefore I'm unable to determine whether the advice and information in this book is still accurate. It was very readable and I found a lot of the information about each particular snake and their behavior to be the most interesting part of the book. I'm definitely going to be on the look out for a more up to date book regarding python care but I'm glad I was able to sit down with this volume and soak up some general info about snake care.
