The Art of Jon Hul
A man of many talents, Jon Hul always had a love for illustration, but an overriding passion for music. In the race to see which discipline would finally pay the bills, art won over the drums, and rock's loss was the pin-up's gain! Hul has fused his eye for color, detail, and composition with an appealing photo-realistic style. The results literally stop you dead in your tracks! Gallery shows bring in the serious collectors, and Jon's reputation for outstanding works of sheer beauty keep the artist hard at his craft! This is the first collection of his paintings, and is a MUST-HAVE book for anyone considering themselves a pin-up fan! A really sweet package of magnificent works by a true original.

If the cover appeals too you (and it definitely did to me) you should pick this coffee table book up. Inside you'll find many pictures of women like the lady on the cover in interesting poses. Absolutely entertaining and inspiring read. The artist here is a true master. Highly recommended!

February 21, 2012not certain that i'm reading quite the same version, but it seems to be the same, though it comes under the heading of 'art fantastix', well anyway the art is well fantastic....though not literally, there's nothing genuinely fantastical about it, quite the opposite it is hyper realistic, or realistic in an airbrushed, made up, and plastic surgeoned kind of way but technically its incredible, technically i say because artistically speaking, though the subject matter is quite beautiful, in a 'glamour' kind of way, the art itself, is not necessarily all that artistic, the most interesting examples are those that strongly show the brush strokes and pencil lines, overly smooth photo-realistic art has never appealed to me all that much, i like my art rougher.
p.s though this is meant to be erotic art, it is merely titillating rather than actually sexual, and on the subject of the sexual, jon hul, despite what the foreword says, does not show in this art and great understanding of female sexuality, not that i claim such expertise myself, but i know enough to know that this sort of smooth perfected titillation, fun as it may be, is not representative of anyone's genuine innate sexuality.
