The key takeaways are:

1. Smile as soon as you wake up and smile often: It has health benefits as it stimulates the brain to release neuropeptides and serotonin for relieving stress and improve mental health. Be thankful for the small things and smile.

2. Be grateful as it will improve your life by helping you focus on important things. It will also positively boost the person who helped you.

3. Meditate as it helps to calm the mind. It decreases beta waves that direct attention towards cognitive tasks. It improved present moment awareness. Focus on your breath as you inhale and exhale.

4. Nature gazing nature improves health.

5. Exercise makes us happy, improves mental clarity and makes you healthy. Workout the whole body.

6. Eat healthy and include fresh fruits, whole grains, nuts-seeds, fresh vegetables, legumes and lean protein.

7. Emulate a role model who has a strong character, someone who loves what they do and have qualities that inspire you. A role model helps you from being distracted.

8. Get into a habit of reading as it exposes you to fresh things, provides new ways of achieving goals, and is the key to self development.

9. Write down your ideas as it becomes cemented in your brain.

10. Write down your goals. It helps you achieve more as it motivates you.

Habits can change your life style
Keep aside everything you have heard about self improvement books! And if you truly want a transformation in your life, try “25 small habits” by Manoj Chenthamarkshan. You would surely get a sense of yourself.
Most self improvement books turn out to be boring but “25 small habits” by Manoj Chenthamarkshan is a roller coaster of new discoveries and self realization. “ 25 small habits” has human body facts in it such as dopamine and estrogen are hormones responsible for happiness yet at the same time it gives simple advice too! Which balances out the complexity and simplicity of the book. I feel this book not only focuses on facts but real world problems too.
This book is about how small habits can change your lifestyle. It includes simplest habits like smiling and showing gratitude not too time consuming but impactful habits. I like journaling, reading, and meditation. The chapter doesn't just finish on sharing the habits and advantages. It also tells us about how to achieve that habit and bring it into our daily life. I feel this really makes the book worth reading. As it creates a realistic connection with our daily life.
Sometimes the most exciting part can turn out to be boring too. Same happens here, sometimes when you read loads of factual information in explanation. You might start losing interest. Or you might get lost in understanding the meaning. And lose the real sense of reading. That's where the activities or advice part saves a little more interest.
“Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful.” “Gratitude is a great multiplier” “nature wears the color of our soul” these are some beautiful quotes mentioned in this book. Which really creates a hook before reading ahead. It acts as a main idea of the chapter.
Compared to other books like “Ikigai”
“25 small habits” uses simple and relatable language. Which prevents the readers from getting lost , the activities are based on real life which could really be possible for us.
People who really want to improve themselves with realistic ways possible should definitely try “25 small habits”. People who have recently started reading and want to explore self improvement should try “25 small habits”.

The inclusion of real-life anecdotes and examples adds a personal touch, making the advice more relatable and actionable.

As someone passionate about self-improvement literature, I appreciate how this book doesn't promise overnight success but rather advocates for the power of consistency and perseverance. Initially all that author says is to practise really small easy things which could be done in everyday life without a big hustle. Smiling in the morning while waking up, feeling grateful, meditating and nature gazing.. while reading I felt, I have been doing it all without any effort when I lived a self disciplined lifestyle.. wish I go back to that lifestyle and mindset for a healthier lifestyle. Somewhere in between 5 chapters talk about very similar activity with different purposes which could have been under one chapter in my opinion. Some habits we might already have some definitely needs extra work. The best thing about the book is the author doesn’t complicate anything, just like the book title content is also small, simpler and clear. To be said precisely what to expect, every chapter title clearly states about what habit the author is going to explain, each chapter gives the reason why one should do and potential outcomes for that particular habit and a simple exercise at the end of every chapter which helps the readers to take the information from the book to action. This book is definitely for the one’s struggling to live with healthy lifestyle on a regular basis easily and this book is definitely not for anyone who is already living a self disciplined goal oriented healthy lifestyle.

An easy read, although it is quite repetitive (around the sections of writing and gratitude). Could be reduced to 15 habits overall.
