I found this book very helpful for those who are looking to break into the world of mythology. I have always been fascinated by myths and legends, but there are just so many I didn't know where to start.
This book doesn't separate legends by area, and rather takes a topic approach. It compares all of the myths and legends on heroes, creatures, gods and goddesses, and much more.
I consider this book a starting point. It helped me pinpoint which areas I wanted to read further into. As a stand alone, it serves a function but it isn't a riveting read.
