The selections are excellent, on the whole, but too brief. The commentary does little to illuminate the selections or the model of mystical experience on which the selections were based, and there's a certain smugness of tone I don't like, garbed in a frock of slyly winking wit. Not terrible, but Underhill's Mysticism is a far superior work, imo.
