Tajan a sixteen year old boy who was a good student. Always had good grades, was very talented athlete before he became afileated with gang members. He also believed gangs werent justo to protect the neighborhood.
Edwin was a sixteen year old boy from El Salvador aso an emigrant. He has been witness of violence in his country and also through other friends that were in gangs in the United States.
Kim was a swenty one year old single mother. She was not involved in gangs as much as she may be in her younger ages she was loyal to her gang and expected her kids to be a part as well.
Dewayne was blinded from a shooting he was a witness in by another crip member. He still struggles with fear memories of the day of the incedence. After he witness he was no longer a part of the gang, and convinces his younger simblings not to join . The only things i strongly disliked about this book was that it was too many differnt stories put in one so many different topics trying to come across a point that didnt seem to make sense.

I love this book and how the authors were able to interview a different set of teenagers and their different style of life.
