Jan Fisher is an educational consultant living in Laguna Beach, California. She works for various southern California school districts and the University of California, Irvine. She also supervises student teachers at California State University, Fullerton.

As a consultant, Jan provides training to teachers and administrators in the areas of classroom management, elements of instruction, standards-based instruction, and models of teaching. She works with both school staffs and administrators in implementing school improvement efforts. The focus is on organizing and facilitating collaborative study groups to analyze student work, interpret achievement data, and then develop action plans to alter instruction. Jan presented to the 1997 and 1998 ASCD national conventions on the topic of school improvement, and to the 2003 ASCD national convention on classroom management.
