My goal for the last 2 years has been to read what I have so viola this book. It was published in 1995 so I expected it to be out of date, but not as much as I expected. Mary Higgins Clark died in 2020 and I’m not sure if I read something from her prior(maybe in my younger years). I enjoyed the story of who murdered the plastic surgeons daughter. This might be classified as a cozy mystery now days.

Despite some cringeworthy dialogue, clunky text, and a ten year old character written more like an eighteen year old this is a well crafted mystery. I like how the various components of the case came to a head nice and late in the book and the strings were more or less tied neatly before the perpetrator was revealed. If only I'd heeded the clue in the very first page I might have had more faith in my identifying the murderer when the thought first occurred to me.
