I got motivated to know more about the country after watching the movie `the beautiful country`. The book was a good read, full of facts, history, and geography of Vietnam. The folklores behind the Ha Long bay was cool. I loved the chapter on the wildlife the most. I did not know about all those animals-Tapir, dhole.. the war history brought back memories of social science study in grade 4. On the shortcoming side, I wish they had more pictures of animals and birds that were described, the traditional clothes, cyclos etc..

Even though the date is 2024, and the book is outdated, it still stands that both children and adults could learn so much through this series - The Countries of the World Series that this book is a part of. Seriously, do not look down upon these books despite how short they are or the number of pictures within them. To become a better society, we need to become a more informed society.
