Recommended for gr. 5-8. A good handbook for the aspiring journalist. Step by step advice is given for establishing a “writing zone”; picking a subject, gathering information, and writing style. Easy to read, lots of sidebars and colored boxes. Writing examples are given from popular middle school level magazines. Glossary, index, and “Further Information” are included as well as a writing timeline which runs along the bottom of all pages.
