Quantum Sync

A science fiction tale where the world has finally entered an era of global energy sufficiency through the perfection and implementation of Lithium based nuclear fusion technology in 2163. But the limited resources of the metal on Earth necessitate the exploitation of a distant planet several light-years from our solar system that abounds in Lithium. Technological research has yielded nearly instantaneous communications across the vast distances of space and the phenomenon of Quantum Sync enables engineered clones on that distant planet to be controlled by a few telepathic people on Earth, the syncers.

Willard is one such person, born with telepathic gifts and destined for a life of wealth and privilege. But he is only one link in the vast infrastructure of the Quantum Sync Network administrated by Nimbus Corporation and it too has its own priorities and agendas. Willard soon discovers that neither his perceived life here on Earth nor that on the far-away Lithium-rich planet actually function as global media would have him believe. The tale of the The Emperor's New Clothes is a good analogy and the emperor is about to lose his robes of Quantum Sync as Willard watches from the crowd.
