Jeanne Balsam is an author, illustrator, and graphic designer. She graduated Pratt Institute with a B.F.A., and was certified as an Art Therapist soon after. During this time she also began studying the writing and illustrating of children's books at The New School with Uri Shulevitz.

Her life then took a circuitous route. In her ensuing education and experience, Jeanne worked to better the lives of those in need. This included helping people through her psychoanalytic practice, and working tirelessly on behalf of abused and neglected animals. Always, she hoped to return to children's books.

With time and effort, her dream came true; Jeanne's debut picture book, "Where Do Butterflies Go at Night, 2nd Edition", is now available on Amazon. Jeanne continues to write and illustrate children's books, hoping to inspire young minds and hearts.
