Web content filters like Dansguardian or POESIA on Linux and SafeSquid on Windows and Linux block out undesirable content. Ironically, after installation and configuration of such a content filter the standard way to test it is to attempt to visit one of those very websites one wishes to block. While that kind of a final check may be reasonable to conduct in certain situations, it should be preceded by a safer method – one that cannot expose the user to hardcore porn even if the blocker fails.
