My Text, Context and History doorstop of a book. Full of plays and matching articles based on the emergence of Modernism/Naturalism/Symbolism, The Historical Avant Garde, Early Political Theatre and Performance of Ideology. Plays include Miss Julie, Therese Raquin, Three Sisters, King Ubu, The Spurt of Blood, How The Vote Was Won, The Street Scene, Blues For Mister Charlie, The Cheviot The Stag and The Black Black Oil to mention a few. A good read for anyone studying or pursuing a career in Drama/Theatre or anyone who enjoys reading plays and articles interepreting them.
